Today, we are introducing Bombardier Beetle, a significant enhancement to the Viper Pit component of our Serpent Defence Framework.
Bombardier Beetle was developed to improve our ability to identify, understand, and respond to increasingly sophisticated forms of farm-based automated abuse, particularly those involving mobile farms, SIM farms, and mixed-device environments.
Building on the Serpent Defence Framework
In 2025-2026, s͛Card introduced the Serpent Defence Framework, a multi-layered security architecture designed to defend the platform against automated abuse, malicious automation, scraping activity, and other threats targeting digital business infrastructure.
The framework was designed around the principle that modern threats are adaptive. Attackers continually evolve their techniques, infrastructure, and operational models to evade detection and maintain persistence.
The Viper Pit subsystem was created as part of this broader defensive architecture to analyse suspicious behaviour patterns and support intelligent abuse detection across the platform.
Bombardier Beetle represents the next major advancement of that capability.
Why Bombardier Beetle Was Developed
Over time, our security analysis identified patterns consistent with increasingly organised abuse operations designed to appear as legitimate mobile traffic.
These environments often involve large collections of physical devices, emulated devices, SIM-enabled hardware, and distributed network infrastructure operating together to generate automated activity at scale.
Traditional indicators are often insufficient when dealing with these environments because operators can rapidly rotate infrastructure, deploy new devices, change network paths, and adapt their behaviour.
Bombardier Beetle was developed to improve visibility into these evolving patterns and provide additional intelligence to support our defensive decision-making processes.
Understanding Mobile Farms and SIM Farms
A mobile farm is generally a collection of devices or mobile emulators operating together to perform automated actions at scale.
A SIM farm is typically a physical deployment of multiple phones, modems, or SIM-enabled devices that can generate large volumes of mobile traffic across different carriers and networks.
These environments are frequently used to make automated activity appear more distributed and more difficult to distinguish from legitimate user behaviour.
While the legality of such operations depends on the jurisdiction and the conduct involved, these environments are often associated with fraud, telecom abuse, identity misuse, scraping operations, proxy abuse, and other forms of unauthorised activity.
For modern digital platforms, detecting behaviour consistent with these environments has become an increasingly important part of maintaining service integrity.

Bombardier Beetle enhances the Viper Pit's ability to identify patterns associated with farm-based abuse activity.

Why We Don't Publish Technical Details
Security systems are most effective when operational details remain protected.
Publishing detection thresholds, response mechanisms, behavioural indicators, or internal analysis models would provide valuable information to hostile actors seeking to bypass those protections.
For that reason, we are intentionally discussing Bombardier Beetle at a strategic level while withholding implementation details.
Our goal is transparency regarding our commitment to platform security without compromising the effectiveness of the systems that help protect it.
