About the Role
Meridian Capital is hiring a Data Engineer to join our quantitative research team. You will design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure that supports our investment decision-making process — from raw data ingestion to production-grade feature stores.
Our stack includes Python, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, and Kafka on AWS. We process terabytes of market data daily and integrate alternative datasets ranging from satellite imagery to credit card transactions.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about data quality, observability, and building systems that scale. You will work alongside quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and software engineers to turn raw data into actionable trading signals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience with Python and SQL
- Strong experience with Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar orchestration tools
- Expertise in AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR)
- Experience building data pipelines for financial or time-series data
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders
